Ou Lab Director, Ana Pinheiro, recently participated in two important international scientific events, strengthening the visibility of research conducted in the field of cognitive and emotional neuroscience.
On 21 March 2026, she took part in the Oporto Biomedical Summit, in the session “Mind Unlocked: The Neuroscience Behind You”, where she delivered the lecture “How emotions shape who we are: Lessons from the brain”. Her presentation highlighted the central role of emotions in shaping human identity and behaviour, drawing on recent neuroscientific evidence.
More recently, on 9 April 2026, she participated in the BIAL Foundation Conference 2026, in Porto, with a Blitz Talk entitled “Dissociable effects of agency and ownership on speech perception”, addressing distinct mechanisms underlying agency and the sense of ownership in speech perception — a relevant contribution to understanding the cognitive and neural processes involved in communication.
These participations reflect the ongoing commitment of Professor Ana Pinheiro and CICPSI to scientific excellence and to projecting their research in leading international events.
