This week we have exciting news! Next Thursday, June 12, we will host a symposium focused on brain development during adolescence at Faculdade de Psicologia da Universidade de Lisboa.
During this symposium, we will have a keynote lecture by Leah Somerville, Professor at Harvard University. Her talk will focus on new work that reveals how goal-directed behaviors are differentially shaped by cues signaling value – denoted by social cues and monetary rewards – during adolescence, and associations with behavior and brain function.
Moreover, Ana Pinheiro – our lab director – will present a a socioneuroendocrine framework that contributes to our understanding of how we perceive and differentiate ourselves through our voice, and will specify how the underlying mechanisms change during pubertal development.
Maria Amorim will present preliminary data from the RESTART project “My voice or yours? Developing self-other voice perception in adolescence”.
Lastly, we will have a roundtable focused on challenges in adolescence research.
